Thursday forecast for Austin: Get ready for another gorgeous, cloudless day in Austin, but it will be hot: Expect to get sweaty later in the day as temperatures climb to the upper 80s, the National Weather Service says.

Friday’s outlook includes more sunshine and temperatures rising to near 85. At night the skies will be clear with low temperatures settling to around 61 degrees.

The weekend will start off mostly sunny on Saturday, with a high near 84 and south winds of 5 to 10 mph increasing to 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon. In the evening, skies will turn mostly cloudy and an increase in heat-trapping humidity will keep temperatures mild as the low temperature sinks to a balmy 67 degrees. South-southeast winds of 10 to 15 mph will persist, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Forecasters are calling for a 20 percent chance of rain on Mother’s Day this Sunday and muggy weather as temperatures should hit the mid-80s. South-southeast winds of 15 mph — and gusts of up to 20 mph –will bring moisture and humidity from the Gulf and keep rain chances around 20 percent on Sunday night.

By Monday, rain chances will ramp up to 40 percent, mainly after 8 a.m. The mugginess will continue as temperatures climb to near 87. Clouds and humidity increase as the south-southwest winds of 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph, continue for another day.
